The Apple iPad Retina WiFi costs Rs 30,500 (16 GB), Rs 36,500 (32 GB), and Rs 42,500 (64 GB) where as the WiFiƱG Models are sold at Rs 38,900 (16 GB), Rs 44, 900 (32 GB), Rs 50,900 (64 GB).
# 2 — Google Nexus 7 Tablet
Google’s 4.1 Jelly Bean is finally out of the box and Google has already started rolling out 4.2 Jelly Bean update for this tablet. This device offers a pure android experience and is a rather affordable tablet price tag of about INR 19,999. It is 11 mm in thickness and is packed with quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor, which comes with 1 GB RAM. It comes with an unadulterated Google Android Experience but misses out on some crucial features like micro SD card.
# 3 — Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime
When it comes to Transformer Prime; you get best of both worlds. It has a full keyboard dock and a large touch screen. It can be converted from tablet to laptop and gives double the battery life. The Eee Pad Transformer Prime has a 10.1 inch Super IPS Panel display and supports ten finger multi-touch facilities. The display uses Corning Gorilla Glass technology and makes it scratch proof. This device comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb and the company is releasing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for it. It is packed with quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core mobile processor paired with 1 GB RAM and an 8 megapixel camera. The tablet price is roughly INR 37,600 for 32 GB and 62 GB tablet price is INR 44,500 approx.
#4 — Samsung Galaxy Note 800
This tablet comes with 10.1 inch thick display with 1280×800 pixel resolution. Though it has often been compared with Apple iPad tablet but the Retina display is nowhere, in comparison. It has a mesh of speakers on each side of bezel in landscape mode. The Samsung tablet is packed with a powerful quad core 1.4 GHz Samsung Exynos 4 Quad 4412 mobile processor, which is complimented by a 2 GB RAM. This tablet price is pegged approximately at INR 37,500 for 16 GB and its micro SD card can take a 32 GB memory card.
# 5 — RIM BlackBerry PlayBook
BlackBerry has taken a backseat in the tablet market because of the delay in producing the BlackBerry PlayBook. It contains a stellar hardware and provides the user with a smooth experience. The PlayBook uses QNX operating system coupled with BlackBerry OS. It is a dual core Texas Instruments processor with a Power VR SGX540 graphic chip and 1 GB RAM. It is known to have the most responsive touch screen display. The LCD screen is 7 inches thick and has a pixel resolution of 1024×600. At the back it has a 5 megapixel camera and the front is fitted with 3 megapixel camera for video chats. It comes without a micro SD memory card but compensates for that loss with 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB storage options. The tablet price can be as low as INR 16,000 online.
